New COVID-19 cases increase as Gloucester County reports 25 on July 10

The 25 new cases is the most the county has reported in a single day since June 13.

For the first time in nearly a month, Gloucester County reported more than 20 new COVID-19 cases in a single day on Friday.

County health officials confirmed 25 new cases for July 10. It is the most new cases Gloucester County has had since the re-opening of many non-essential businesses in the state.

The increase was mostly due to a large amount of cases in one municipality. Washington Twp. reported 13 new cases on Friday, comprising more than half of the county’s new cases. Here’s a breakdown of the new cases by municipality:

  • Elk – 1
  • Glassboro – 1

  • Paulsboro – 1
  • Pitman – 1
  • Swedesboro – 1
  • Washington Twp. – 13
  • West Deptford – 3
  • Woolwich – 1

The ages of residents who are being confirmed with positive COVID-19 cases is also dropping. Nearly half of Friday’s new cases were adults between the ages of 18 and 34. Here’s a breakdown of Friday’s positive cases by age:

  • 17 and younger – 1
  • 18-34 – 10
  • 35-49 – 5
  • 50-64 – 7
  • 65 and older – 2

Gloucester County did not report any new COVID-19 deaths on Friday for the second time in three days.
