COVID-19 update: Gloucester County reports 28 new cases, five additional deaths

Gloucester County's case total since the start of the pandemic is now approaching 2,000.

Gloucester County’s COVID-19 update for May 19 includes 28 new cases as well as the deaths of five county residents who were ill with COVID-19.

The five deceased residents include three residents from Deptford ages 77, 85 and 86; a 95-year-old Washington Township resident and a 48-year-old Harrison Township resident.

Gloucester County is now approaching 2,000 positive cases in all as it has recorded 1,932 confirmed positive cases. The total number of tests conducted is approaching 10,000, with 9,371 tests having been reported so far. There have been 7,424 negatives tests, with 14 still pending.

Here is a breakdown of the day’s new positive COVID-19 cases by municipality:

  • Deptford – 3
  • Franklin Twp. – 1
  • Glassboro – 4
  • Mantua – 2
  • Monroe Twp. – 5
  • Newfield – 1
  • Paulsboro – 1
  • Swedesboro – 3
  • Washington Twp. – 4
  • West Deptford – 1
  • Woodbury – 3
