No deaths, 93 new coronavirus cases in CamCo

Thirty-six new infections found in Camden City.

The Camden County Department of Health announced on Monday 93 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 4,272 in Camden County today and 218 total fatalities.

“We are encouraged to see that the rate of new cases in Camden County remains consistent with where it has been over the last ten days,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.

“Our team is continuing to work closely with our partners throughout the community to attack this virus, protect our vulnerable citizens, and save lives. We are actively working to identify areas which are experiencing greater rates of viral activity, and we continuing to monitor the situation in our long-term care facilities where roughly one in four of our cases have occurred. While we are making progress, I want to continue to urge our residents not to be lulled into thinking our fight is nearly over. The truth is this fight is going to take time, but it can be made shorter if we continue to social distance, wear face covers or masks, and follow the governor’s orders.”

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,078 confirmed cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 4,272 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this current time 173 deaths have been reported from these facilities out of our 218 total fatalities countywide.
