Second COVID-19 death confirmed in Gloucester County

Positive county cases rise to 120

The Gloucester County Department of Health confirmed Monday afternoon that a resident ill with COVID-19 has died, the second fatality in Gloucester County.

The patient was a 68-year-old male who was hospitalized with underlying medical conditions.

As of Tuesday, March 31, the county has conducted 909 total tests. Of these cases, 752 have come back negative, 120 have come back positive and 37 are pending.

The Gloucester County Department of Health and Human Services and Office of Emergency Management announced 31 more positive COVID-19 cases in Gloucester County. This brings Gloucester County’s total positive COVID-19 cases to 120.

The 90th case is a 47-year-old male from Logan.

The 91st case is a 30-year-old female from Pitman.

The 92nd case is a 51-year-old male from Mantua.

The 93rd case is a 44-year-old female from Deptford.

The 94th case is a 90-year-old male from Woodbury.

The 95th case is a 50-year-old male from Glassboro.

The 96th case is a 68-year-old male from Paulsboro.

The 97th case is a 56-year-old male from Glassboro.

The 98th case is a 68-year-old male from Washington Township.

The 99th case is a 73-year-old female from Woodbury.

The 100th case is a 45-year-old male from Monroe.

The 101st case is a 52-year-old male from Woolwich.

The 102nd case is a male from Deptford, age unknown at this time.

The 103rd case is a 61-year-old female from West Deptford.

The 104th case is a 79-year-old female from Woodbury.

The 105th case is a 32-year-old male from Woolwich.

The 106th case is a 65-year-old female from Glassboro.

The 107th case is a 45-year-old male from Washington Township.

The 108th case is a 51-year-old male from Washington Township.

The 109th case is a 32-year-old female from Washington Township.

The 110th case is a 41-year-old male from Washington Township.

The 111th case is a 41-year-old male from Washington Township.

The 112th case is a 31-year-old male from Washington Township.

The 113th case is a 50-year-old male from Washington Township.

The 114th case is a 73-year-old female from Washington Township.

The 115th case is a 44-year-old male from Monroe Township.

The 116th case is an 82-year-old male from Deptford.

The 117th case is a 30-year-old female from Harrison Township.

The 118th case is a 56-year-old male from West Deptford.

The 119th case is a 67-year-old female from Washington Township.

The 120th case is an 80-year-old female from Deptford.

The Gloucester County Department of Health and Human Services is working with the New Jersey Department of Health to conduct a full assessment that includes identifying the contacts these individuals have had.

At this time, the overall threat of COVID-19 to Gloucester County residents remains low. Gloucester County is expecting cases to rise. Social distancing is critical in flattening the curve and reducing cases. A mask should only be worn if a healthcare professional recommends it.
