Camden County up to 24 total COVID-19 cases

Five additional positive cases brings Camden County total to 24 total residents with COVID-19

The Camden County Department of Health has announced five additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

“Today, we continue to see growth in new confirmed cases. Again, we are seeing community spread in Camden County and the only way to stop this spread is self-isolation and following Governor Murphy’s order to stay at home,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli Jr. “At the same time, it is important to recognize that more cases will be confirmed in the coming days and weeks because of the slowly increasing availability of testing. This does not mean that social distancing measures are not working. Staying home is our best course of action to stay healthy and save lives. And make no mistake, this will become a lifesaving operation in the future until we get an effective medicine or vaccine to treat COVID-19.”

The following information is currently available regarding new patients:

New Patient 1: Male, 60s, Cherry Hill, currently hospitalized.

New Patient 2: Female, 60s, Cherry Hill, self-isolating at home.

New Patient 3: Female, 60s, Cherry Hill, self-isolating at home.

New Patient 4: Female, 50s, Winslow, currently hospitalized.

New Patient 5: Female, 80s, Barrington, currently hospitalized.

This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 24 in Camden County today.

The county Health Department is currently working with the NJDOH to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
