Gloucester County closing senior congregate meal sites indefinitely

The closure will begin on Tuesday, March 17.

The Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Division of Senior Services are closing all six congregate meal sites beginning Tuesday, March 17 until further notice.

“The health and safety of our senior residents is one of our top priorities as we combat the COVID-19 outbreak,” Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said.

Freeholder Jim Jefferson, liaison to the Division of Health and Human Services, says this is the safest way to protect the senior population. “Social distancing is the best way to contain the virus and keep yourself and others safe,” Jefferson said.

Home delivered meals, through Serv-A-Tray, will continue to be delivered.
