Haddonfield School District to close due to Coronavirus

All district schools will be shuttered from March 17 until at least March 27.

The Haddonfield School District released the following message on its website:

“Starting Tuesday, March 17 up to and including Friday, March 27 all Haddonfield schools will be closed to protect our school community and to do our part to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus. All extracurricular and athletic activities are also canceled during this time period. There is a possibility that this closure could extend beyond Friday, March 27.

“Education will continue during this closure period uninterrupted. Your child’s teachers and principal will be communicating with you about your child’s online learning plans on Monday as we meet with staff to plan for our adventure in cyber learning. Best wishes, be safe and we will hopefully see everyone back at school on Monday, March 30.”

As previously stated by the district, no classes will be held on Monday, March 16 due to professional development. Teachers, staff and administration will hold a session regarding how to proceed with lesson plans in the wake of the spread of COVID-19.

Stay tuned to the Sun as this story continues to develop. Visit the district’s website at: haddonfieldschools.org for more immediate updates.
