Three Eastern Regional High School field hockey players were recently named to the USA Field Hockey U-16 national team.
Izzy Bianco, Ryleigh Heck and Kylie Dawson were three of the 34 players named to the team for 2020. The roster was named by USA field Hockey’s Junior High Perform Staff alongside the U.S. Rise Women’s National Team Selection Camp.
Similar to the selection process for the Rise USWNT, athletes who participated in this year’s selection camp were previously chosen based off of their respective performances at Junior National Camp and the 2019 National Futures Championship.
The U-16 USWNT has a similar training schedule over the next few months to that of the Rise USWNT. The team will travel to Chula Vista, Calif. for training from Feb. 20 to 24.
Next, they will travel to train with fellow women’s Junior National Teams from March 27 to 29 in Chapel Hill and Durham, N.C. Finally, they will train alongside the Rise USWNT from April 10 to 12 in Maryland before starting their England Tour, which is set for April 29 to May 5.
