Obituary: William “Bill” P. Nickerson

Spanish teacher, Haddonfield co-op worker passed away.

William Nickerson of Haddonfield passed away at the age of 69 on Jan. 9. Bill was the beloved brother of Robert (Linda) Nickerson of Plains, Pa. and Raymond Nickerson of Pringle, Pa., dear uncle of Nel (David) Hartley of West Palm Beach, Fla. and treasured great uncle of Zoey Grace Hartley.

Bill graduated from West Side Central Catholic High School in Kingston, Pa. and from Duquesne Univ. in Pittsburgh. Following graduation, he began his career as a Spanish foreign language teacher at Camden High School than spanned 32 years. Besides teaching, Bill was passionate about antiques. He worked at an antique co-op in Haddonfield for many years and after it closed, moved his business to Burlington, called Historic Burlington Antiques & Art Emporium.

Bill’s family will receive friends on Sunday, Jan. 19, from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Avenue, Haddonfield. His Memorial Service will follow at 2 p.m.  Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
