Mantua Township police summary, Dec. 26 to 31

Dec. 26

  • Patrols responded to a domestic assault in Wenonah in which the wife was arrested for assaulting her husband.
  • Officers responded to a possible burglary to the old car wash on Main Street.
  • A subject came to police headquarters to turn himself in on an active warrant for his arrest.
  • Units responded to a trash truck that had damaged a tree on Long Terrace.
  • Officers responded to a crash that had occurred on the exit ramp of Route 55 onto Glassboro Road.
  • Patrols responded to a missing person in which a father was making suicidal comments to his son. He was located and taken to the hospital for an evaluation.
  • Cpl. Hauss conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested the driver for DUI. The driver refused to provide breath samples and was charged accordingly.
  • Officers responded to a report of a domestic in which the neighbors called to report loud arguing.
  • Officers assisted a motorist in Wenonah that had locked their keys in their vehicle.

Dec. 27

  • Units responded to a hit and run crash on East Buttonwood in which someone struck a parked vehicle.
  • Patrols along with the fire department responded to a UPS truck that had telephone wires on its roof on Mantua Boulevard at Main Street.
  • Officers took a report for a lost or stolen township trashcan.
  • Units took a fraud report in which the victim had a fraudulent Target credit card account opened.
  • Patrols took a harassment complaint for a suspect that threatened the victim for taking business from him.
  • Officers responded to the Target store for a report of shoplifting. A female was arrested and charged.
  • Units responded along with the fire department for a report of a vehicle fire in the 900 block of Mantua Boulevard.
  • Officers responded to a neighbor complaint in which one neighbor believed her neighbor was being rude.
  • Ptl. Oldrati conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested the driver for possession of a handgun. He was processed and lodged in the county jail.

Dec. 28

  • Ptl. Oldrati conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for outstanding warrants. He was processed and lodged in the county jail.
  • Units responded to a single vehicle crash involving a deer on Mantua Boulevard by the railroad tracks.
  • Officers supervised community service workers who cleaned up litter along Glassboro Road by Route 55.
  • Patrols responded to a report of a crash on Mantua Boulevard by Oxford Terrace.
  • Officers responded to a hit-and-run crash in the Home Depot parking lot and were able to locate the vehicle that fled.
  • Units responded to a crash in the Villages of Berkley.
  • Officers responded to a crash on Mt Royal Road near Route 45.
  • Patrols also responded to a crash in the parking lot of the Wine Warehouse.
  • Units served a temporary restraining order.
  • Officers responded to a report of a male unconscious behind the wheel of a vehicle on Glassboro Road. He was arrested for DUI.

Dec. 29

  • Officers supervised community service workers who cleaned up litter along Main Street in the area of the Telford Inn.
  • Patrols received a report that a neighbor was making too much noise. They did not want the police to respond, but only make it a matter of record.
  • Units responded to a child custody dispute.
  • Officers responded to a crash on Tyler Mill Road by Glassboro Road in which one vehicle needed to be towed from the scene.
  • Units responded to a report of a missing juvenile that was quickly located.
  • Officers assisted a subject that was kicked out of a vehicle and left. They were transported to West Deptford.

Dec. 30

  • Ptl. Oldrati conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested two occupants for drug related charges. They were processed and released.
  • Units responded to a crash on Mantua Boulevard at Glassboro Road.
  • Officers took a report for a stolen license plate.
  • Patrols responded to a crash on the exit ramp from Route 55 to Glassboro Road.
  • Units responded to J. Mason Tomlin School for a report of illegal dumping and items being thrown onto the roof.
  • Patrols along with the fire department responded to a report of a condo fire in the Villages of Berkley however, it was contained to the oven.
  • Officers took a crash report for a fire vehicle that was involved in a crash responding to the above condo fire.
  • Units responded to a domestic dispute in the Villages of Berkley.
  • Ptl. Wolfsgruber located a vehicle with two occupants inside Ceres Park after hours. They were each issued an ordinance violation for being in the park after hours.

Dec. 31

  • Officers and the fire department responded to a crash in front of the Home Depot in which one vehicle overturned. The vehicle needed to be towed from the scene.
  • Units responded to a crash on Route 55 involving a motorcycle.
  • Patrols checked the area of Sewell for a report of solicitors in the area.
  • Officers responded to a crash on Glassboro Road in the area of the Lowes store.
  • Units assisted a motorist that had locked his keys in his vehicle while at his house.
  • Patrols responded to a loud party involving kids, however, there were parents on scene and everything was fine.
  • Officers responded to a single vehicle crash on Glassboro Road in which a vehicle struck a road sign.
