Man charged with possession of child sex abuse material

A 23-year-old Mount Laurel man has been charged with possessing images and videos of child sex abuse, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and Mount Laurel police.

Robert Nault was taken into custody during the execution of a search warrant on Aug. 21 at his residence, where electronic devices were seized, according to the prosecutor. They will be examined by investigators from the prosecutor’s office. Nault was released after a first appearance at Superior Court in Mount Holly, and his case will now be prepared for a possible grand jury indictment.

The investigation began after the prosecutor’s High-Tech Crimes Unit got information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about Nault’s online activities. The investigation revealed that he had accessed links to images and videos containing child sex abuse material and downloaded files to his online storage system, the prosecutor said.

It was also revealed that Nault has worked as a summer counselor at Camp Ockanickon for Boys, as well as the School’s Out Program, both run by the YMCA of the Pines in Medford, according to the prosecutor. Nault has not been accused of any inappropriate physical contact with minors.

Anyone with information concerning Nault’s activities should send an email to the prosecutor’s office at [email protected] or contact Mount Laurel police at [email protected]. The Medford police department can be reached at [email protected].
