Mullica Hill: Primary election

Voters in Harrison Township went to the polls June 4 to choose candidates to run for an array of municipal and state offices in the Democratic and Republican primaries.

Two Republican candidates ran for the two open seats. They were Adam Wingate, who received 640 votes out of 1,302, and Thomas Coakley, who received 639. The remaining 23 votes were for write-in candidates.

There were no Democratic candidates who ran for the seats, though 119 voters filled in write-in candidates for this party.

The results listed here reflect what has been posted online by the Gloucester County Clerk’s Office as of June 5. The results of the election will remain unofficial until they are certified.

Wingate and Coakley will go on to the next step in acquiring committee seats in the Nov. 5 general election.
