Palmyra voters headed to the polls Nov. 7

Voters in Palmyra Borough went to the polls on Nov. 7 and elected members of the governing body/board of education.

The Burlington County Clerk’s Office has posted results from the election on its website. All of the election results are unofficial and will remain unofficial until a vote counting process that could take more than a week has been completed.

The totals as of Nov. 8 do not include late mail-in ballots and provisional ballots, which are expected to be tallied later this week.

Mayor

Democratic Mayor Gina Ragomo Tait, who ran for her second term, faced former mayor and Republican challenger Michelle Arnold for a four-year mayoral position in the election on Nov. 7.

As of Nov. 8, Tait leads the race with 874 votes over Arnold with 636 votes. There are seven personal choice votes.

Palmyra Borough Council

Two Democratic incumbents, Laura Craig Cloud, who ran for her second term, and Jessica S. O’Connor, who ran for her first elected term, faced Republican challenger Kevin O’Neill, who ran for his first elected term, for the two, three-year seats open in the general election on Nov. 7.

No petition was filed for the second Republican seat available during the June primary.

As of Nov. 8, O’Connor and Cloud are in the lead with 968 votes and 885 votes, respectively, for the seats.

O’Neill has received 648 votes. There are 24 personal choice votes.

Palmyra Board of Education

Three incumbents ran for reelection in an uncontested race for three-year seats on the board of education on Election Day, Nov. 7.

As of Nov. 8, Sean Toner received 900 votes, Judy L. Belton follows with 897 votes and Jennifer Mossgrove received 881 votes. There are 13 personal choice votes.
