Predicted order of finish
SCHALICK
The Cougars played a lot of young players and ended up going 4-6, 1-4 last year while competing in the WJFL United Division. Now this is a team with good experience and there is no reason why the Cougars shouldn’t challenge for the division title, especially after finishing last year with three consecutive wins. Sr. RB-S Jackson Schalick (6-0. 185) was first-team all-conference on offense, rushing for 448 yards and 4 Tds on 58 carries. Sr. TE-LB JaQuan Redfern (6-2, 240) and Sr. QB-S Quinn Cardona (5-11, 190) were first-team on D. Redfern had 110 tackles, while Cardona had two interceptions. He also threw for 405 yards and 4 Tds and scored two Tds rushing. So. RB-CB Kenal Simmons (5-9, 170) was second team on defense after recording 30 tackles. He also rushed for 278 yards and 1 TD on 52 carries. Another key two-way player is So. RB-S Reggie Allen Jr. (5-9, 170), who rushed for 202 yards and 4 Tds on 42 carries. All of these players were two-way performers. Sr. OT-LB Jordan (Eric) Baez (5-9, 170) was a second-team choice on D after recording 42 tackles, 6 TFL and 4.5 sacks. Sr. OL-FB–DL Fuquan Sutton (5-8, 210) rushed for 215 yards and 3 Tds on 48 carries. Sr. WR-DE Ethan Ventura (6-3, 190) had 55 tackles, 8 TFL and 3 sacks. So. RB-LB James Haawk (5-8, 145) had 63 tackles, 8 TFL and 4 sacks. So. OL-DL T.J. Hymer (5-10, 205) had 25 tackles. Among the key newcomers is Jr. TE-LB Blake Sims (5-10, 170).
BISHOP EUSTACE
The Crusaders were 2-8 while competing in the WJFL Constitution. While depth is a key, as it is with all teams in this conference, there is enough experience to make a run at the Horizon. At the least, the Crusaders should be improved over last season. Jr. WR-DB Matt Kraft (5-11, 185) was a two-way standout. He led the team with 14 receptions for 270 yards and 2 Tds and also contributed 80 tackles, 9 TFL and 9 INTs. So. RB-WR-DB Mekhi Simmons (5-10, 175) rushed for a team-high 1,056 yards (7.2 avg.) and 3 Tds while also starting in the secondary. Sr. OL-DL Dominic Dablisio (6-5, 280) has drawn D-1 interest, according to coach Christopher Pollard. Sr. RB-DB Michael DiRenzo (5-7, 180) returns after missing last year while rehabilitating an ACL injury his sophomore season. He played lacrosse in the spring and is ready to contribute both ways in football. Sr. OL-DL Jacob Mohr (6-3, 210) is a returning starter on offense and will contribute on D. Jr. OL-LB Dakota Riviera (5-8, 210) is counted on to be a two-way performer. Sr. OL-DL Jackson Beidleman (6-0, 240), led the team in tackles last season. Sr. WR-DB-K Ryan Kraft, was a starting WR and PK last season. So. QB-DB Chase Brandt (5-10, 165) saw time at QB last year, attempting 13 passes, and is competing for the job with Fr. QB-DB Jax Marshall (6-1, 165). Two other key newcomers are Fr. RB-LB Noah Glenn (5-10, 185) and Jr. WR-DB Landon Mack, a top baseball player out for football for the first time
GLOUCESTER CATHOLIC
Last year the Rams suffered through an injury-plagued season when 15 of the projected top 31 players were lost to injury. Not surprisingly, it led to an 0-11 season. Now if the health is better, the Rams should be an improved team. Returning two-way performers are Sr. OL-DE Mike Petito (6-3, 265), Sr. OL-DL Dyheim Watson (6-1, 255), Jr. QB-DB-WR Kyle Guldin (6-1, 155) and Jr. OL-LB Chris Hagan (6-0, 235). Guldin finished the year at QB and looks to start there this season. Players who saw action on at least one side of the ball include Sr. LB Eddie Yeagar (5-10, 180), Sr. LB Ryan Tucker (5-9, 180), Jr. OL-DL Frank Keenan (5-11, 275), Jr. TE-LB Nick Calzonetti (6-0, 170), So. WR-DB Kybron Ricks (5-8, 145), So. RB-DB Jude Van Auken (5-8, 145),
WILDWOOD
The Warriors were 1-7, 1-4 competing in the Freedom Division last year. Jr. QB-WR-DB Hans Junior (6-0, 170) was a first-team all-conference choice at WR where he had 35 receptions for 383 yards and 4 Tds. He is moving to QB this season. Jr. WR-DB Ryan Troiano and Sr. OL-DL Francisco Cruz were second-team all-conference on offense and Sr. WR-DB Joey Mormile was second-team on defense. Ryan Troiano had 21 receptions for 205 yards and 3 Tds. Mormile had 21 tackles and one forced fumble. Other two-way performers include Sr. OL-DL Angelo Bromley, Jr. OL-DL Niko Kalogeris and Jr. OL-DL Lance Lillo. RIVERSIDE
The Rams are coming off an 0-10 season while competing in the Freedom Division, but return several key veterans. With several returning players at key positions, there is hope for improvement. Sr. RB-DB Ivan Ramos-Lopez (5-7, 145) led the Rams in rushing and interceptions and was a second-team all-conference choice on D. Sr. QB-TE-LB Alex Birriel missed most of last year due to injury, but led the Rams in tackles as a sophomore. Sr. QB-WR-DB Andrew Costa played the final three games last year at QB. Other key two-way players are Jr. RB-LB John Boston (5-8, 185), So. OL-DL George Branin (6-0, 295) and Sr OL-DL Ben Brinson (5-8, 300). A player who saw action on at least one side of the ball is Jr. WR-TE-LB Teddy Hawkins (5-10, 160), while Jr. DE-LB Jasir Bowens (5-7, 170) is a key returning letter winner. So. OL-DE Chris Wisniewski (5-10, 185) started one game last year and saw action in three others at OG. Two newcomers to watch are Fr. RB-WR-DB Justin Mary (6-1, 165) and Fr. QB-FB-LB Dean Potts (5-7, 155).
LINDENWOLD
The Lions snapped a 30-game losing streak during a 1-8 season. This is a program that has had talent, but just not enough players. There are some quality returnees, but a lack of depth will be difficult to overcome. Sr. WR Lamar Green (6-2, 170) was a first-team all-conference choice. Jr. QB Isaiah Boothman (5-10, 175) might be the most dynamic player on this team and he is a returning starter. Sr. QB-SLOT Nazier Bryant (5-7, 160) has big-play capability. A key two-way performer is Sr. RB-SS Adrian Bonilla (5-10, 165). Leading the way on both sides of the line of scrimmage is Sr. OT-DT Jamire Smith (6-0, 220). Through the summer, the program had 23 players involved and a key will be getting more to come out for the team.
