Mayor’s Column: Social Media Platforms

The Voorhees Township Committee is committed to keeping our residents informed through an accessible and transparent local government.

The Voorhees Township Committee is committed to keeping our residents informed through an accessible and transparent local government.  We were one of the first municipalities in South Jersey to televise our public meetings locally on Comcast Channel 19 and on Fios Channel 38.

Our Township website (voorheesnj.com) includes a calendar of events, contact information for all municipal departments, meeting agendas/minutes, information about our elected officials and helpful links to our schools and community organizations.  We are regularly upgrading and improving our website to provide more information and make it more user friendly.

Our Nixle alert notification program keeps our residents up to date with relevant information from our police department, fire department, department of public works and Town Hall.  To register for the program, go to https://voorheesnj.com/departments/social-media/.  For more information or questions, call the Township Clerk at (856) 429-7757.

The Township Facebook page has almost 6,000 followers and our Twitter followers continue to grow. We work to improve all of our social media platforms.

During the pandemic, public meetings for the Township Committee, Planning Board, Zoning Board, Environmental Commission and Diversity Committee have been conducted by zoom, allowing our community to participate in the comfort of their homes.
