The Alicia Rose Victorious Foundation will host its annual wine, food and craft beer-tasting on April 28, the first one in person since COVID caused the event to go virtual in the last two years.

Gisele Dinatale, president and co-founder of the foundation along with her husband Mario, has hosted three well-attended charitable events each year. The 20-year-old foundation was started by the couple to honor their daughter Alicia Rose, who passed away after a 13-month-battle with cancer in 2002.

“[Our] attendees can expect a spectacular, delicious event,” said Gisele. “Our tasting host is Cheers Wine & Spirits [in Voorhees). Over the years, Cheers has provided wine selections from around the world.

“The food samplings will be hosted by the executive chefs at the Mansion (in Voorhees) and Lucien’s (in Berlin) signature sushi buffet. Sweet Eats Bakery, also located in Voorhees, will provide a ‘sweet’ ending for this great evening,” she added.

In addition to food and alcohol, attendees can participate in a silent auction art expo by Dr. Ji-Bin Liu, a longtime Voorhees resident and professor of radiology in Philadelphia, whose artwork features traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy using ink on rice paper or silk.

All proceeds from the event will support the Teen Kit and Alicia’s Art Cart programs to benefit hospitalized children. Over the past 20 years, Victorious 4 Teens programs have included funding 68 teen lounges, 48 Alicia’s Art Carts, and thousands of Teen Kits for teens and young adults in hospitals across the country.

The event, held since 2005, will require compliance with state and CDC guidelines; surgical-grade masks and hand sanitizers will be available.

“We are just so pleased to be able to bring back this fun evening and reconnect with supporters in a safe environment,” said Gisele DiNatale. The event will take place both indoors and outdoors at the newly renovated Mansion on Main Street.”
