The two occupants and two children of the home are uninjured but have been displaced due to the damage the home sustained. Assistance was provided by the Red Cross.

The following is a release from the Gloucester Township Police Department.

On Friday, Oct. 29 at approximately 10:14 a.m., the Gloucester Township Police Department responded to Torrington Drive in the Erial section for a report of a house fire. Arriving officers found the home to be fully  engulfed in flames. As Gloucester Township Fire Departments were arriving, Officers ensured that the residents were evacuated.

Gloucester Township Fire Department Stations 81, 86, and 88 along with Lindenwold, Pine Hill and Winslow Fire Departments arrived on location and quickly gained control of the fire.

The two occupants of the home were not injured, however they were displaced along with their two children due to the damage the home sustained. Assistance was provided by the Red Cross.

One firefighter from Pine Hill suffered minor burns to his arm and was treated at a nearby Hospital. Their name  is not being released at this time.

While this incident does not appear to be suspicious at this time, it is being investigated by the Gloucester  Township Police Department Investigations Bureau, Gloucester Township Fire Department station 86 and the  Camden County Fire Marshal.

This is a reminder to check your fire suppression systems and alert / audible alarm systems to ensure they are  operational. Smoke alarms are a key part of any fire escape plan. When there is smoke, there is fire which can  spread quickly. Working smoke alarms give you early warning, so you can get outside quickly.
