Joint land use board grants approval for new medical office

Meeting topics also include possible Jefferson Road redevelopment

Harrison Township’s joint land use board held its regular meeting on Oct. 21 to discuss regular  business and resolutions.

In new business, the board discussed resolutions made at the recent Harrison Township Committee meeting with the mayor on Oct. 18. The committee authorized the land use board to conduct a preliminary investigation to determine whether a lot on Jefferson Road and 15 Wayne Ave. is in need of redevelopment.

The mayor and township committee will meet again on Nov. 15 to discuss more resolutions intended for the board, which plans to grant approval for the development of a medical office building to be named Richwood Medical Center. The board also approved a plan for improvements at House of Worship True North Territory, a 1,800 seat church in need of office renovation.

A resolution was made for a minor subdivision at Five Gen LLC on Harrisonville Road, and a consistency review was conducted for a proposed redevelopment plan for Tomlin Station.

The board’s next meeting will be on Thursday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. The agenda will be published in the upcoming weeks on the township’s website.
