CamCo sees 121 new cases from 7/27 to 7/29

Today marks the most cases in a day since May.

The Camden County Department of Health is announcing  has reported 40 new cases on 7/27, 31 new cases on 7/28, and 50 new cases on 7/29 of COVID-19, bringing the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases in Camden County to 50,199 and 1,237 total fatalities.

“We haven’t seen this many cases in a single day since the middle of May, and every indication points to case counts continuing to increase,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “The Delta variant dramatically increases the transmissibility of COVID-19 compared to the variant we faced last year. If you are unvaccinated, you are at risk. Get protected before it is too late.”

To date, 300,457 Camden County residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 275,621 are fully vaccinated. More information regarding vaccination rates throughout the county and available on the state’s COVID-19 dashboard at covid19.nj.gov.

The county Health Department is continuing to closely track new cases of COVID-19 and information regarding the prevalence of the Delta variant. New cases are often reassigned to other municipalities over the course of an investigation.
