CNN Senior Legal Analyst Elie Honig will speak at the Cherry Hill Public Library on Thursday, July 15 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

This event is open to the public and will be held outside, behind the library. If there is inclement weather, it will be moved indoors. Honig will be signing books (available for purchase that evening from Inkwood Books) and answering questions.

Honig’s first book “Hatchet Man: How Bill Barr Broke the Prosecutor’s Code and Corrupted the Justice Department” from Harper Collins, was released this July. Honig is a proud alumnus of Cherry Hill East and Rutgers University. He previously spoke at CHPL two years ago.

Honig is a CNN Senior Legal Analyst who previously worked for 14 years as a federal and state prosecutor. From 2004 to 2012, he was an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, prosecuting and trying federal cases involving organized crime, human trafficking, public corruption and violent crime. As an AUSA, Honig successfully prosecuted more than100 members and associates of the mafia, including bosses and other high-ranking members, on murder, racketeering, and other charges.

From 2012 to 2018, Honig served as deputy director, and then director, of the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice, where he supervised a staff of more than 500 law enforcement professionals and approximately 1,000 cases per year.

In addition to his current work for CNN, Honig hosts podcasts and writes for Cafe, works as executive director of the Rutgers Institute for Secure Communities and is Special Counsel to the law firm Lowenstein Sandler. Honig graduated from Rutgers College in 1997 and Harvard Law School in 2000. Elie is on Twitter and Instagram @eliehonig.
