CamCo logging 98 new confirmed cases

Luck of the Irish not with county residents as, despite increased vaccinations, cases remain constant.

The Camden County Department of Health reported on Wednesday 98 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 41,064 in Camden County today and 1,109 total fatalities.

“We are wishing everyone a safe and Happy St. Patrick’s Day, even as the pandemic continues to limit our ability to gather and celebrate,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.

“This virus continues to pose a serious threat to our community with more than 100 new cases still being identified every day. While it is hard to watch another cherished holiday pass without the typical celebrations that used to mark it, the most important thing remains the safety of our community. We will have many more opportunities to come together and celebrate once we have put this pandemic behind us.”

Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,328 confirmed resident cases and 1,326 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 41,064 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 460 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as seven staff deaths, out of our 1,109 total fatalities countywide.
