Letter to the Editor: Thanks to outgoing council

In her letter to the editor, resident Erin Nowak thanks the outgoing members of council for devoting their time to serving the township.

As we prepare to inaugurate a new town council in January, I’d like to acknowledge the service and institutional “memory” of our outgoing town leaders.

Thank you outgoing Moorestown Town Council members, Lisa Pietriello, Victoria Napolitano and Mike Locatell for your tireless efforts to ensure that Mooretown is a desirable place to live, study and do business. There were many, many sessions of council during your tenure. The meetings were often long and querulous. You handled your responsibilities with grace. Thank you for the “block the box” sign at Pleasant Valley Ave. and Haines Dr. It has fixed some rush hour traffic issues.

Thank you Peter Thorndike, Esq. for your decades long service to Moorestown. As attorney for the zoning board for 42 years and as attorney for the planning board for more than fifteen years, your deep understanding of municipal law will be sorely missed.

Lastly, congratulations to the new members of council Dave Zipin, Sue Mammarella, and Jake VanDyken. Welcome!

Erin Nowak, president, Resident Action Coalition
