CamCo logs 10 deaths, nearly 300 new cases

Confirmed positives in county rockets past 23,000 since pandemic began.

The Camden County Department of Health (DOH) announced on Thursday 13 new deaths caused by novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County, as well as 269 additional cases of the disease. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 23,024 in Camden County and 659 total fatalities.

The following information is currently available regarding these most recent deaths in Camden County:

New Case 3: FEMALE, 90s, CHERRY HILL TOWNSHIP
New Case 4: FEMALE, 50s, CHERRY HILL TOWNSHIP
New Case 5: MALE, 80s, CHERRY HILL TOWNSHIP
New Case 6: MALE, 80s, PENNSAUKEN TOWNSHIP
New Case 7: MALE, 90s, CHERRY HILL TOWNSHIP
New Case 8: FEMALE, 70s, LAWNSIDE BOROUGH
New Case 9: MALE, 60s, GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP
New Case 10: MALE, 50s, BERLIN TOWNSHIP

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families, and we are wishing a full and fast recovery to the hundreds of county residents currently battling this disease,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.

“Our daily average of new cases is now greater than 350. We are continuing to see unprecedented case growth and hospitalizations and fatalities are beginning to trend upwards as a result. This pandemic will hopefully be over in the coming months, but it will do tremendous damage in the meantime if we do not actively fight it. Please continue to wear a mask, social distance, and avoid all indoor gatherings.”

Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,756 confirmed resident cases and 884 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 23,024 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 362 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 659 total fatalities countywide.

The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
