LHS announces teacher, education support professional of the year

Special Education Teacher Amanda Perry and Media Specialist Jamie Fauver are this year's honorees

The Lenape Regional High School District and Lenape High School (LHS) offer congratulations to Lenape’s Teacher of the Year Amanda Perry and Media Specialist Jamie Fauver, who was named the school’s Education Support Professional of the Year.

In a press release from LHS, Perry is praised for setting the standard for what a special education teacher should be. Her dedication to her students is unparalleled. She skillfully teaches and effectively guides students at every learning level. Perry’s versatility enables her to adapt to the various learning styles of the diverse learners she serves.

She is truly an asset to both the History and Special Education departments at LHS, according to the school’s statement. Her job as an educator extends well beyond the walls of the classroom. In addition to providing a nurturing and educational environment to the students inside the classroom, Perry spends countless hours after school helping students outside the classroom. She works tirelessly to identify and provide direction for struggling students as part of the Intervention and Referral Services (I&RS) team.

Perry also is an advisor for the Buddies Club, which provides social opportunities for
classified students, and the Renaissance Club, which encourages academic excellence
and citizenship in our students. Her commitment to serving her students is a model
for all educators. She does whatever it takes to prepare students for their futures.

LHS also issued a statement saying that there is no professional at the school who brings
more passion to everything they do than Media Specialist Jamie Fauver. Whether it’s
teaching students how to conduct research in a thorough and ethical way, encouraging
members of the Lenape family to fulfill their civic duties by voting, or leading several clubs
encouraging engagement in the community, Fauver is unrelenting in her commitment to the academic, personal, and social development of LHS students.

Fauver has spearheaded multiple initiatives in the Media Center, including the Book Bachelor, Reading Olympics and several mock election events to make the Media Center the information hub of the building. Her genuine love of literacy and civic engagement is infectious and profoundly impacts every student in the building.

Extracurricular activities provide a natural extension of the school day for Fauver, as she advises the Debate Team, the Women of the World Club and the Politics Club. She serves as not only an advisor but also a role model to students to vigorously pursue that which is most important to them. Each organization has flourished under Fauver’s leadership.

Fauver makes LHS a better place and helps students grow into better citizens. For all of these reasons, Lenape is proud to recognize Fauver as the Education Support Professional of the Year.
