The Camden County Department of Health (DOH) is announcing two new deaths caused by novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County, as well as 49 additional cases of the disease. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 9,918 in Camden County and 566 total fatalities.

“I am extremely saddened to learn that two more members of the Camden County family have lost their life due to COVID-19. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and their families,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “With the pandemic stretching more than six months, this is not the first holiday weekend we have experienced under this new normal. While we all want to be with our families and friends, please celebrate responsibly and do your part to stop the spread of COVID-19 this Labor Day. Avoid large parties, wear a mask when in public, and always maintain social distancing.”
The Department of Health is announcing 49 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.
In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,397 confirmed resident cases and 568 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 9,918 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 318 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 566 total fatalities countywide.

The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
