The Camden County Department of Health on Friday announced 40 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 7,280 in Camden County today and 352 total fatalities.
“We are continuing to wish a fast and full recovery to everyone who has contracted this horrible disease, and we are keeping all those affected in our thoughts and prayers,” said Freeholder Louis Cappelli, Jr.
“Today, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released new guidance reiterating recommendations for the use of face masks when with large groups, washing hands frequently, and keeping six feet apart. Our tools to combat the spread of coronavirus have not changed, but they are more important than ever if we are going to keep case growth down and save lives. As we return to something that resembles a normal course of business, please continue to take these recommendations seriously and follow the advice of public health experts.”
Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.
In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,238 confirmed resident cases and 456 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 7,280 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 277 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 352 total fatalities countywide.
