Giraffe sculpture to finally receive his name

Moniker of newest addition to Children's Sculpture Zoo on Kings Highway to be revealed on Friday.

The Haddonfield Outdoor Sculpture Trust will announce the winner and runner-up in the naming contest for the new giraffe sculpture at the Children’s Sculpture Zoo, located at Kings Highway East and Evergreen Lane, on Friday at 10 a.m.

More than 200 entries were received to name the life-size bronze giraffe and the winning name was selected by the Haddonfield Outdoor Sculpture Trust’s board for its meaning in these challenging times.

The winning entry was submitted by Elizabeth Asher, who will be entering sixth grade at Haddonfield Middle School in the fall. Runner-up name “Peanut Butter” was submitted by Lilah Mallemat, another Haddonfield Middle Schooler, who will be entering seventh grade in the fall.

Elizabeth will receive a family package of four tickets to the Philadelphia Zoo, while Lilah will receive a five-foot tall stuffed giraffe. Participants will be wearing giraffe-themed masks. For more information, visit www.HaddonfieldSculpture.org.
