A handful of parents, Evesham Township officials and Cherokee High School’s Project Graduation are coming together to give the class of 2020 a milestone sendoff all their own.
They are asking local businesses and residents for donations, as they are collecting items to include in gift bags for each graduating senior.
Volunteers are planing to have a drive-up table at the high school, which will be manned by parents and representatives from town businesses during Cherokee‘s senior collection and distribution week, which runs from June 8 to 12. They will hand out gift bags to each senior when they also receive their Disney-trip items, yearbooks and other senior-year memorabilia.
The 530 swag bags already include gift cards, coupons, water bottles, snacks and a variety of small gifts from local businesses from an array of local businesses, organizations and residents. Â
Volunteers are also creating a video with special messages to the seniors from each of the businesses that donated an item. Those videos will be shared on social media.Â
