ICCA cancels Fourth of July Celebration Parade

The following is a release by the ICCA:

The Inter-Community Celebration Association, Inc. (ICCA) has made the difficult decision to cancel the 73rd annual Fourth of July Celebration Parade in compliance with Gov. Murphy’s executive order #107 to the COVID-19 health crisis.

The committee made the difficult decision after considering the many aspects of planning, fundraising, staffing and executing the vents amid the public health concerns and economic uncertainty of the next few months.

“Our first priority is the health and safety of our community,” said ICCA President Bill Adair. “We must also be fiscally responsible and avoid penalties and cancellation fees. More importantly, the day’s events are entirely funded by community businesses and private donations, and we understand the difficult situation many of these individuals, families and small businesses are now in.”

“We are incredibly grateful to the community for their continued support of the ICCA’s July 4th Celebration,” said Adair. “We look forward to making the 2021 celebration extra special.”

The committee plans to continue the tradition back to a community organization with a $500 donation to the Berlin Inter-Community Ambulance Association. This organization has had increased demand for their services/resources due to the COVID-19 health crisis. In addition, the committee will allocate funds to replace the American Flags outside of the Berlin Borough and Berlin Township Senior Citizen Centers.
