“We are deeply saddened to announce that eight more members of the Camden County family have succumbed to this terrible virus. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with those who have lost a loved one or friend amidst this pandemic,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “The governor’s recent announcements that beaches in New Jersey will be open, in a limited capacity, by Memorial Day, as well as the resumption of non-essential construction and curbside pickup for retail businesses, is welcome news for thousands of Camden County residents. We are extremely encouraged that the governor and his administration believe these steps to be safe and practical as they take on coronavirus with a science- and data-driven approach. I cannot stress enough that these relaxations will only be successful if we enjoy them while being conscious of the risk that this virus still poses. Please continue to distance yourself from others, wear a face cover or mask, and wash your hands frequently. We are not out of the woods yet, but we can continue making progress if we handle these new opportunities responsibly.”
