May 4 COVID-19 update: Gloucester County reports 28 new cases, one new death

The 28 new cases is the lowest single-day total in Gloucester County since April 16.

Gloucester County has reported 28 new COVID-19 cases and one new death connected to COVID-19 on May 4.

To date, Gloucester County has conducted 6,216 total tests. Of these cases, 1,435 have come back positive, 4,764 have come back negative and 17 are pending.

Here is a breakdown of the new COVID-19 cases by municipality:

    • Deptford – 10
    • Franklin Township – 1
    • Glassboro – 3
    • Greenwich – 1
    • Logan – 1
    • Mantua – 2
    • Monroe Township – 4
    • Paulsboro – 1
    • South Harrison – 1
    • Washington Township – 1
    • West Deptford – 2
    • Woodbury – 1

County officials also confirmed the death of a 90-year-old woman from Washington Township due to COVID-19. She is the county’s 52nd patient death from COVID-19.

Monday’s numbers are a decrease from what the county reported over the weekend. On Saturday, county officials reported 60 new cases and three deaths. On Sunday, 58 new cases were reported. No new deaths were reported on Sunday.
