WTHS, Athletic Director Kevin Murphy recognized Ally Tobler as the school’s January Student-Athlete of the Month.

Washington Township High School senior swimming and lacrosse standout Ally Tobler has been named the January Student-Athlete of the Month. The award is given monthly to a student-athlete who embodies selfless play, a commitment to his/her team, promotes team unity and positively influences team culture, both academically and athletically.

Team captain of the Minutemaid swim squad, Tobler displayed her versatility throughout the season, scoring points in the 50, 100, 200 and 500-yard freestyle races and through numerous relay combinations. Her efforts earned her All-Conference recognition in the South Jersey Swim League. She also earned All-County status after leading her team to exceptional showings in both the county championship and the state tournament. Tobler was named MVP at the Gloucester County swim championships after placing third in the 100-freestyle (57.10) and anchoring both the 200 and 400-free relay teams that placed second and third, respectively.

Tobler, an outstanding student who has been recognized for her academic success throughout her four years at WTHS, also is an All-Conference performer in lacrosse and will continue her lacrosse career at the College of New Jersey.

“Ally is a hardworking and dedicated two-sport athlete who has led both our swim and lacrosse team for four years,” WTHS Head Girls Swimming Coach Jessica Slates said. “Her commitment to both programs has been a huge factor in both teams’ success.”

“Ally is a positive role model who always places the needs of the team first,” WTHS Athletic Director Kevin Murphy said. “She has served as an excellent example of how to excel as a competitor and in the classroom.”
