Mantua crime log, Nov. 14 to 20

The following are on file at the Mantua Township Police Department.

Nov. 14

  • Units assisted a motorist that had locked his keys in his vehicle at the Wawa store.
  • Officers assisted a motorist that had locked his keys and his dog in his vehicle while parked at his house.
  • Ptl. Donovan and his K9 partner, Boomer, assisted Woolwich Police Department with a person that was missing from a group home. The male was located.
  • Patrols responded to the Target store for a shoplifter. The female was arrested, processed and released.
  • Cpl. Hauss stopped a female and arrested her for outstanding warrants. She was processed and released.
  • Officers responded to a pig that was running loose in the Centre City development. The pig was returned to its owner.
  • Officers stopped a vehicle that was wanted for a road rage incident that had occurred in Pitman.
  • Units responded to a 26-year-old male that had overdosed while at work at Delaware Valley Florist. He was given Narcan and survived.
  • Officers responded to a crash that had occurred on Route 45 as the vehicles merged into one lane.
  • Officers responded to a single vehicle crash in which a deer was struck on Bridgeton Pike in the area of Heritage Road.

Nov. 15

  • Units responded to a resident that found drug related items on her property and wanted to talk to an officer about it.
  • Ptl. Schnarr conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for outstanding warrants. He was processed and released.
  • Officers took a report for a resident that lost or had jewelry stolen.
  • Units responded to a minor crash in the parking lot of Wendy’s, but both drivers wanted to handle it amongst themselves.
  • Patrols responded to a landlord/tenant dispute in which the landlord was accused of taking items from the property.
  • Officers took a report of harassment which violated a final restraining order. The subject was arrested and lodged in the County jail.
  • Patrols responded to a minor crash in which a U-Haul truck struck a vehicle.
  • Officers attended the VIP Dance at J. Mason Tomlin School.
  • Units took a report for a single-vehicle crash in which a deer was struck on Lambs Road.
  • Patrols took a report for fraud where a debit card was used without permission.
  • Officers responded to juveniles playing ding-dong-ditch in the Centre City development.

Nov. 16

  • Sgt. Murphy located two subjects in Ceres Park during after-hours and issued a township ordinance to each.
  • Officers supervised community service workers who cleaned up litter along the streets.
  • Units responded in Wenonah to check a property that had a broken window.
  • Cpl. Layton conducted a motor vehicle stop in Wenonah and arrested two subjects for possession of a handgun.
  • A resident found a bicycle chained to their house.
  • Units took a theft report for a generator that was stolen by an ex.
  • Patrols responded to a person that had questions about how to apply for a restraining order.
  • Officers responded to the super Wawa for a crash in the parking lot.

Nov. 17

  • Ptl. Sheilds conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested the driver for DUI who refused breath tests.
  • Units responded to a crash on Main Street in the area of Heritage Road where one vehicle needed to be towed.
  • Officers responded to subjects that were walking through various backyards.

Nov. 18

  • Officers responded to a crash on Mt Royal Road in the area of Bridgeton Pike.
  • Patrols responded to a 73-year-old female in crisis that needed to go to the hospital.
  • Units responded to a truck that had struck a tree and the tree fell on top of the truck on Glassboro Road on the Wenonah/Deptford border. The fire department responded to remove the tree from the truck.
  • Officers took a report for a lost wallet.
  • Patrols responded to a suicidal female that was located and transported to the hospital for treatment.
  • Units responded to a hazardous road condition in front of Walgreens in which bricks were in the roadway.
  • Officers responded to a crash in the area of the Barnsboro Inn.
  • Units took a report of a sexual assault that had occurred between a boyfriend and girlfriend. A restraining order was granted and the investigation is still continuing.
  • Patrols responded to a crash on Glassboro Road in the area of Tylers Mill Road.

Nov. 19

  • Officers responded to a crash involving a school bus with several students on board in the area of the Telford Inn. There were no injuries reported to anyone involved.
  • Units responded to a crash on Main Street by New York Ave involving a flatbed truck.
  • Officers responded to a tree branch that had fallen onto a vehicle by a Comcast truck that was doing work.
  • Units responded to a solicitor that had knocked on an interior door after opening the screen door, startling the homeowner.
  • Units responded to a family dispute between a father and his teenage daughter.
  • Cpl. Hauss conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for outstanding warrants. She was processed and released.

Nov. 20

  • Patrols responded to a possible shoplifting situation that had occurred at the Dollar General.
  • Units responded to a family dispute between a daughter and her 87-year-old mother over the moms ability to drive.
  • Detectives responded to the Wenonah municipal building over an irate resident that had just had their water shut off.
  • Units responded along with the fire department to a chimney fire in the Centre City section. There were no injuries and no damages reported.
  • Patrols responded to a crash on Glassboro Road at Tylers Mill Road.
  • Units responded to a domestic assault in which one party was slapped by their ex-spouse while they were dropping off their children. The accused was arrested, charged and released.
  • Patrols responded to a domestic dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend that was just an argument.
  • Detectives arrested and charged the male from the Nov. 18 sexual assault investigation. He was lodged in the County jail.
