Cherry Hill residents who savor all the sights, sounds and smells of the holiday season don’t have to wait much longer. The township’s holiday-related events get underway shortly, and will continue through the end of the year.

From the traditional holiday display lighting to fun events in an educational setting, there are a multitude of ways for the community and children of all ages to enjoy what’s in store.

Holiday Lighting ceremony scheduled for Dec. 9

Cherry Hill Township’s annual holiday lighting ceremony is set to take place on Monday, Dec. 9 at 5:30 p.m. at the Carman Tilelli Community Center located at 820 Mercer Street in the municipal complex. The event features youth choirs and musicians from Cherry Hill schools.

Santa Claus is also expected to make an appearance to help Mayor Chuck Cahn and members of council light the community Christmas tree and Hanukkah menorah, while also commemorating Kwanzaa.

“With so many wonderful events planned around the holiday season, I always look forward to our Township’s Holiday Lighting Ceremony,” Cahn said.

“Each year, our community comes together for one night to celebrate the kick-off of the holiday season with our annual tree and menorah lighting, festive music, readings, laughter, and so much more. I am excited to celebrate this time of year surrounded by our community and truly appreciating the holiday spirit.”

Light refreshments will be served. The event is free to attend and open to all residents. For more information, call (856) 488-7868 or email [email protected].
