Joan M. Molz, a very devout Catholic, died on Thursday, Oct. 31. It was a very appropriate date for her as it is significant in our Catholic roots — All Hallow’s Eve — that is, the Vigil of All Saints’ Day, when Catholics remember those who have gone before us to enter our heavenly home.
Joan Mary Urbanick, daughter of Frank and Josephine Urbanick, was born March 29, 1936. At the age of 19, she married her love, Bertram Ferdinand Molz, who not only had a blushing crush on her, but luckily lived just around the corner in their Philadelphia neighborhood. Four children soon followed, and they eventually moved across the bridge from their Philly row house to a single-family home in Medford. This is where they began what would become a very successful office furniture and supply company, they called BF Molz located in Moorestown.
Make no mistake; Joan kept a tight rein on her children. At the same time, she loved her kids very, very much and was dedicated to her family. Then came even more special loves — the grandchildren she cherished so very much.
Joan is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Lew Malone; four children Joanne Molz, Donna (Brian) Walsh, Gary (Rosalyn) Molz, Dean Molz and her beloved grandchildren Dana Walsh, Lindsey Walsh, Jessica Molz, David Molz, Isabella Molz.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Josephine Urbanick and husband, Bert Molz.
Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday, Nov. 5 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Lewis Funeral Home located at 78 E Main Street in Moorestown to offer respect for the life of Joan Mary Molz (née Urbanick). a mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Church located at 42 W Main Street in Moorestown.
