At Saint Michael’s Lutheran Church in Cherry Hill, a Japanese Maple Tree was planted in
memory of Robert Beers. It will be dedicated on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 10:20 a.m.
Robert “Bob” Beers died in August 2017 at the age of 87.

Beers was an active church member, served on the Church Council and the finance committee, sang in the choir and helped to lead the Corn Roast Committee. He served as an officer in the U.S. Navy for 28 years retiring as a captain. Following his retirement from the Navy he worked for Lockheed-Martin, retiring in 1996 as vice president of Naval Systems.

Beers was married to Shirley for 65 years and was a father of five. Bob was an avid gardener, at one time growing 1,500 gladiolas. The tree serves as a fitting memorial to Bob.

Saint Michael’s Lutheran Church is located at 601 Kings Highway North in Cherry Hill. It is part
of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The mission is to share God’s love in Jesus
Christ. Sunday worship services are at 8:15 and 11 a.m. For more information, call the church at (856) 667-0973.
