On Friday, Oct. 11, the Burlington County Bar Association will be holding its fifth annual Day of Service for all Burlington County residents. The event will be held between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Burlington County Library located at 5 Pioneer Blvd. in Westampton.
In 2015, the Burlington County Bar Association partnered with the American Bar Association to present a day to give back to Burlington County community by providing free legal services.
Together, Burlington County Bar Association Vice President Reema Scaramella and Burlington County Bar Association President Kevin Walker decided to put together an event for the residents of Burlington County to provide legal services in the form of attorneys helping with simple wills, expungements, personal bankruptcy and foreclosure consultations, all free of charge.
The bar association also partnered with Burlington County Surrogate Mary Ann O’Brien, South Jersey Legal Services, Rutgers Law Camden and the New Jersey Superior Courts.
“We are very proud that our day of service is in its fifth year,” said Scaramella. “Since its inception in 2015, we have served over 200 residents of Burlington County.”
“The reason we chose these services is because we thought these types of legal services reach a broad area,” Scaramella continued. “These are services that a lot of people are in need of. These services are also usually able to be completed in the initial meeting, although we want to expand our services in the future.”
The event is open to all citizens. No extra information is required other than the information needed to discuss the service. According to Scaramella, each of the partnerships that have been cultivated will also be their to provide resources and information about any other legal services.
“We are trying to get the word out to as many people as we can.” said Scaramella. “It’s a terrific service that our Association provides. The attorneys in the Burlington County Bar Association are a remarkable group of individuals who are always willing to volunteer their time to help others.”

Those wishing to take advantage of these services should arrive at the library between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Sign-in closes a 2:30 p.m. to ensure services are completed by 4 p.m.
