Mantua Township crime log, Sept. 5 to 10

The following are on file at the Mantua Township Police Department.

Sept. 5

  • Officers responded to a resident in Wenonah that heard some commotion in their backyard just after midnight. It turned out to be deer.
  • Units assisted a motorist that had locked his keys in his vehicle at the super Wawa
  • Several officers stood by to welcome the children back to school at Mantua and Wenonah Schools.
  • Ptl. Mroz conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for outstanding warrants. She posted partial bail and was released.
  • Patrols took a report for harassment and threats for a business that is being threatened by a customer.
  • Units responded to the Wawa on Route 45 for a customer that was causing a disturbance inside the store. They were gone upon our arrival.
  • Patrols responded to a minor crash in the parking lot of the Heritage Dairy Store on Route 45.
  • Officers took a missing person report for a 24-year-old female that has not been seen for two days.
  • Patrols responded to the Mantua VFW for a theft from the canteen.
  • Ptl. Mroz conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for multiple warrants. He was processed and released.

Sept. 6

  • Officers were present for the beginning of the school day for the Mantua and Wenonah public schools.
  • Units took a fraud complaint for a homeowner that paid a contractor to do work but never showed up.
  • Ptl. Oldrati conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for outstanding warrants. The subject was processed and released.
  • Patrols assisted a motorist that had locked his keys in their vehicle while at their house.
  • Officers responded to a missing person report for a child that had not come home from school yet. After speaking with the school and the bus company, it was discovered that the child was on the wrong bus and the bus company took the child directly home.
  • Ptl. Oldrati conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested the subject for outstanding warrants. They were processed and released.

Sept. 7

  • Officers responded to a subject that received a threating phone call in the middle of the night from a person he doesn’t know.
  • Patrols responded to an elderly person that had passed at home.
  • Officers supervised community service workers who cleaned up litter along Glassboro Rd.
  • Units responded to a single vehicle crash by the Walgreens that had struck a curb causing damage.
  • Units assisted a homeowner that wanted information about how to obtain a restraining order.
  • Ptl. Dononvan and his K9 partner, Boomer, visited the Mantua Little League fields during their opening day.
  • Units responded to a domestic dispute for a wife that had attempted to strike the husband but struck a child instead.
  • Patrols responded to Route 45 and Mantua Blvd for a tractor trailer that had struck and knocked down the traffic signal. Mantua Blvd was shut down for a short period while repairs were made.
  • Officers took a report for a missing wallet.
  • Ptl. Crispin arrested a subject for DUI while their three-year-old child was in the back seat.

Sept. 8

  • Officers assisted a male that woke up on the side of the road and did not remember how he got there. Officers gave him a courtesy transport.
  • Ptl. Oldrati conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested the subject for multiple outstanding warrants.
  • Patrols took a report for an assault that had occurred at a party the night prior.
  • Ptl. Oldrati stopped a juvenile for riding his bicycle improperly and arrested him for possession of drugs.
  • Officers responded to a former couple that have a child in common that were arguing.
  • Units responded to a neighbor complaint for one neighbor yelling at another while they were watering their flowers.
  • Officers responded to a subject that had purposely overdosed on medication. They were transported to the hospital for treatment.
  • Patrols responded to a burglary that had occurred where someone entered the house and removed items from within.
  • Officers assisted a patron at the Barnsboro Inn that had locked their keys in their vehicle.
  • Patrols responded to a crash on Tylers Mill Rd involving two vehicles.

Sept. 9

  • Patrols responded along with the Fire Department for a report of an oven fire at the Royal Oak Apartments.
  • Officers responded to a resident that was upset that we would not take possession of a bird that was outside doing things to her vehicle.
  • Units responded to a minor crash in the parking lot of the Wawa on Route 45.
  • Units assisted a disabled motor vehicle on Route 45.  They were on the shoulder of the roadway and had a service coming to assist.
  • Officers took a report of criminal mischief for a vehicle that was scratched.
  • Detectives followed up on a missing person that had been located at a hospital.
  • Patrols responded to a crash on Glassboro Rd. in the area of Mantua Blvd.
  • Patrols responded to a crash on Center St. in the area of New St.
  • Officers took a report for an estranged wife that threw a rock through the caller’s car window.
  • Units responded to the Wawa on Route 45 for a customer that attempted to steal a coffee and caused a disturbance when confronted.
  • Ptl. Oldrati had conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for outstanding warrants. He was turned over to the county jail.
  • Ptl. Oldrati conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for drugs and outstanding warrants.

Sept. 10

  • Patrols responded to the Kohls store just after midnight for a burglary that had occurred.
  • A resident reported that their vehicle was keyed.
  • Officers responded to the Wawa store on Route 45 for an unwanted female. Officers located the subject and found her to have active warrants. She was arrested, processed and released.
  • Patrols responded to a neighbor complaint over the location of a fence being put up.
  • Units assisted a motorist that had locked their keys in their vehicle while at the Chick-Fil-A.
  • Officers and a passerby moved a tree that was across Jackson Rd. in the area of Meyers Creek Court.
  • Patrols responded to a neighbor complaint for a television being too loud and for parking on the grass. The resident requested information on how to sign a complaint.
  • Investigator Hauss charged a female with multiple counts of burglary for breaking into vehicles that occurred in late July.
