Juvenile arrested for detonating homemade explosives at father’s home, Medford Police say

Additional devices were also found in the yard, which required the assistance of the New Jersey State Police bomb unit.

The following reports are on record with the Medford Township Police Department:

On Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 1:39 p.m., Medford Police responded to a report of a gunshot in the area of Skeet Rd. The on-scene investigation revealed that a 17-year-old had detonated a homemade explosive in a dirt pile in the rear yard of his father’s home.

Additional devices were also found in the yard, which required the assistance of the New Jersey State Police bomb unit. The juvenile was arrested and charged with various offenses related to the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
