Swift911 updated information

In the event of an emergency or town event, this system will enable Berlin Public Safety officials to quickly and efficiently alert and inform residents.

Berlin Borough, in a partnership and shared service with the Camden County Office of Emergency Management, has switched to the Swift911 Emergency Notification System. In the event of an emergency or town event, this system will enable Berlin Public Safety officials to quickly and efficiently alert and inform residents.

Berlin Borough no longer utilizes Nixle; any resident wishing to receive notifications should switch to Swift911.

Subscribers will receive emergency alerts via text message, email, voice messaging, social media and the Swift911 Public mobile app for a variety of emergency events, including weather and traffic alerts, prolonged outages, hazardous materials leaks, missing persons searches, natural disasters alerts, special community notifications and more.

Once registered, residents can log in at any time to update contact information and to add/remove from available list subscriptions. Participants can then opt in or out of subscribing to notifications from only Berlin Borough or subscribing to whichever municipality in Camden County they choose. The information submitted will only be used for emergency and special community notification purposes, according to a release from Berlin Borough.

To enroll in the Swift911 notification system, residents are required to list their full name, home address, cell and home phone number, email address and secondary contact information.

The Swift911 Public mobile app is available as a free download for IOS, Android and Windows phones. Download through the App Store in your phone, or test Swift911 to 995-38 to receive a download link.

Resident with additional questions or concerns can contact Berlin Borough Emergency Management Coordinator Rushi Pandya at [email protected]. Pandya has over 10 years of experience in the emergency services field.
