Mantua Township patrol summary, June 20 – 25

The following are on file at the Mantua Township Police Department.

June 20

  • Officers took a report for harassment where the victim’s ex was threating harm to them. They applied for, and were granted, a restraining order.
  • Units responded to a tree in the roadway near Chestnut Branch Park.
  • Officers took a report for a theft of the township owned trashcans.
  • Patrols responded to a single-vehicle crash in Wenonah in which a vehicle struck a tree.
  • Units responded to a minor crash in the parking lot of The Home Depot store.
  • Officers investigated a hit-and-run crash in the parking lot of the Super Wawa.
  • Officers took a report for cyber harassment.
  • Officers arrested a subject for violating a restraining order. She was transported to the county jail.
  • Patrols responded to a single-vehicle crash on Mantua Boulevard in which a vehicle struck a tree and needed to be towed.
  • Units responded to crash on Glassboro Road in which a vehicle struck a concrete median. He was transported to the hospital for an evaluation.
  • Units responded to a tree in the roadway in the area of the 700 Block of Main Street.
  • Ptl. Oldrati conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for possession of drugs.

June 21

  • Officers took a report for fraud as someone opened a cellular account in his name.
  • Ptl. Riepen and his K-9 partner, Bane, assisted the West Deptford Police with a drug sniff. One person was arrested for possession of drugs.
  • Officers participated at a child car seat checkup event held at the Target store.
  • Officers took a report for theft of a township trashcan.
  • Sgt. Herner conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested two occupants. One for possession of drugs, and the other for active warrants.
  • Patrols responded to a tree in the roadway on Bethel Mill Road.
  • Officers assisted the Deptford Police with a fight between two baseball coaches.
  • Patrols responded to a report of a loud party.

June 22

  • Ptl. Mroz conducted a motor vehicle stop just after midnight and arrested the driver for DUI and refusal to submit breath samples.
  • Officers responded to juveniles playing “ding dong ditch” in Royal Oaks.
  • Detectives investigated a sexual assault that occurred by a person known to the victim.
  • Units responded to a disabled vehicle on Glassboro Road near Route 55. The vehicle was towed and the occupants were transported to Chick-Fil-A to wait for a ride.
  • Officers supervised community service workers who cleaned up litter in Wenonah.
  • Officers responded to a neighbor complaint regarding where the neighbor’s dog goes to the bathroom.
  • Units responded to a noise complaint in Centre City for a loud party.

June 23

  • Ptl. Mroz and his K-9 partner, Zuke, assisted the Woolwich Police with a countywide assist request for a large fight with a report of gunshots being heard.
  • Units responded to a subject who had overdosed and was unconscious. Narcan was administered and they refused to be transported to the hospital.
  • Units responded to the Lowe’s store for a report of natural gas coming from the office area.

June 24

  • Officers responded to a neighbor complaint over the placement of mulch.
  • Patrols responded to a minor crash in Wenonah where a vehicle backed out of a driveway, striking another vehicle.
  • Patrols investigated a possible missing elderly person. Investigation learned the subject moved into an assisted living facility a month ago.
  • Officers investigated a domestic assault occurrence that had occurred in Harrison Township, however, the victim was now staying in Mantua.
  • Patrols responded to a broken patio table in which the glass shattered while the homeowner was away. It was unclear if this was purposeful or not.
  • Units investigated a burglary to a unit at the Public Storage facility on Glassboro Road.
  • Officers recovered an abandoned bicycle by the Sewell School.
  • Patrols responded to two separate incidents of fireworks complaints.
  • Ptl. Layton conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for an outstanding warrant.  She was processed and released.

June 25

  • Officers responded to a theft complaint, however, the incident occurred in Deptford.
  • Units responded to a subject removing an oil tank from the property that had damaged the property while doing so.
  • Patrols took a report for harassment in which a neighbor is harassing the victim.
  • Patrols responded to a house that was egged in Wenonah.
  • Units responded to a subject who was in crisis and threatened to harm him or herself. They were transported to the hospital for treatment.
  • Officers responded to a crash in the parking lot of the Wawa store on Glassboro Road.
  • Ptl. Dononvan responded to a single-vehicle crash on Main Street and arrested an occupant for DUI as well as possession of drugs.
  • Units responded to a fireworks complaint in the Tall Pines State Reserve.
  • Officers assisted the Wenonah Fire Department with a carbon monoxide investigation.
