Burlington County Clerk to perform weddings during county farm fair in July

Couple must make an appointment ahead of the fair and will need to obtain a marriage license from the town in which either of the parties resides 72 hours prior.

Burlington County Clerk Joanne Schwartz invites couples interested in tying the knot to have their wedding ceremony at the Burlington County Farm Fair.

Weddings will take place on Wednesday, July 17, and Friday, July 19, in the North Show Tent at the fair. Wedding ceremonies will take place between 3 to 4 p.m. each day, with weddings scheduled every 15 minutes.

“The Burlington County Farm Fair offers a rustic and picturesque backdrop to a beautiful ceremony,” Schwartz said. “The Farm Fair is steeped in tradition, and we are glad to provide residents the opportunity to celebrate their special day with family and friends amidst the classic fair events.”

Couples interested in getting married will be asked to make an appointment ahead of time. These wedding events fill up quickly, so those interested should call to be sure an appointment is available.

The couple will need to obtain a marriage license from the town in which either of the parties resides.

It takes 72 hours to obtain the license, so it cannot be left until the last minute.

For additional information, or to make an appointment, call the clerk’s office at (609) 265-5142 or email [email protected].

Schwartz regularly performs wedding ceremonies for Burlington County residents. Schwartz is also planning future wedding events at county venues, such as the Historic Prison and Smithville Mansion for the Halloween and winter holidays.

“We are excited to offer wedding services at the farm fair this year,” said Burlington County Freeholder Director Tom Pullion. “Farm Fair is a great tradition in Burlington County. I hope residents take advantage of this opportunity and celebrate with their families at the beautiful fairgrounds.”
