Letter to the Editor: Leah Walker

Resident hoping to locate some misplaced items during a recent move.

I’m hoping for some help recovering a few lost items. While in the process of moving, I returned to my apartment on March 29 and was shocked to discover some of my items on the curb and the remaining contents of my apartment completely gone. My neighbors report seeing a lot of things at the curb on the mornings of Thursday, March 28 and Friday, March 29 and noticed people garbage picking.

Items lost include easily replaceable things like food and cleaning supplies, harder-to-replace things like purses, to impossible-to-replace items like family heirlooms, including handcrafted cowboy boots and a small sculpture created and given to me by my mother.

Needless to say, I’m devastated. My hope is that perhaps my things may not all have been taken with the trash and that anyone reading this letter who may have been one of the garbage pickers outside of 22 S. Haddon Ave. (across from the post office) last week, once reading that none of those items were intended to be trash, might be kind enough to return them.

If anyone is able to return any of my items, please contact me at [email protected].

With gratitude,

Leah Walker
