Letters from the library

Check out what’s going on at the Pinelands Branch Library.

The ground hog indicated we will be having an early spring, but Mother Nature keeps us guessing. One day we are facing wild winter storms and the next day is unseasonably warm. Can you guess what will come next?

Just a reminder that on Feb. 28 at 6:30 p.m., Nancy Underwood, certified professional organizer, home staging and design specialist will be presenting a program on downsizing your home. This class teaches you to look at all the things in your home with an eye for keeping what you truly need, use and want and defines ways to part with things by gifting, donating and selling. Unclutter your life and enjoy a new simplified one.

Our adult craft program continues on March 7 at 7 p.m. This month we will be making a DIY St. Patrick’s Day box craft using pre-cut images from our Cricut machine. As usual, all materials will be provided and you need only bring yourself.

Do you like to spend time in the kitchen preparing tasty dishes to share your love with others? The main course may be delicious, but the best things in life are sweet, so eat dessert first! If you love baking, check out one of our many dessert cookbooks to make a homemade treat of your choice, cookies, cakes and so many other options. Bring in your dessert for others to try and share your recipe along with some tips and tricks on baking. Food will be served at this program on March 16 at 2 p.m.

I promised to tell you more about the many clubs offered at the library, so here we go.

We have yoga for all ages from pre-school to seniors. We also have lego clubs for both children and adults. “Kids Can Cook” and “Snack Attack” are for our elementary aged guests. Sponsored by our Gold Patron Shoprite of Medford, Miss Beth, a registered dietician, will teach the children about cooking, measuring, nutrition, and sharing healthy snacks. Check with the library for dates and times and to register for these programs.

I have so much more to tell you, but it will have to wait until the next time.

Until then, keep turning those pages and stay warm!
