Alleged narcotics possession, shoplifting and more in latest reports from Mt. Laurel Police

On Feb. 25 at approximately 6:20 p.m., the Mt. Laurel Township Police Department responded to Home Deport for a report of a shoplifting in progress involving a male and female. Prior to police arrival, the female allegedly left in a vehicle while the male allegedly fled on foot. Patrols arrived and located the male, who was then taken into custody. The 25-year-old male of Sanford, Fla. was then found to allegedly be in possession of narcotics. The male was transported to department headquarters, processed and released on a summons.

On Feb. 23 at approximately 12:57 p.m., the Mt. Laurel Township Police Department arrested an individual for possession of narcotics and tampering with evidence. Patrols responded to Peppergrass Drive for a report of a stolen credit card that was used to purchase a two night stay at a homeowner’s residence by an Airbnb client. The homeowner advised patrol units that Airbnb had allegedly reached out about a stolen credit card that was used to stay at the residence by the current renter. Patrols met with the individual, who then asked to use the bathroom. While in the bathroom, the individual allegedly flushed toilet multiple times to dispose of contraband. Patrols then allegedly located an empty wax fold inside the bathroom. Patrols then allegedly located more controlled dangerous substances inside the rented room. The individual, a 23-year-old female from Florence, was placed under arrest. The suspect was transported to department headquarters, processed and released on a summons.

On Feb. 23 at approximately 11:02 a.m., the Mt. Laurel Township Police Department arrested an individual for possession of narcotics in the area of Route 38 and Ark Road. During a routine motor vehicle stop, police took a 21-year-old male of Philadelphia into custody. The patrol officer’s investigation revealed the alleged presence of narcotics and paraphernalia inside the vehicle. The individual was transported to department headquarters, processed and released on a summons.

On Feb. 22 at approximately 10:34 p.m., the Mt. Laurel Township Police Department responded to a hotel on Crawford Place for a report of an out of control male. Upon arrival, it was discovered the male was allegedly having a psychotic episode and also under the influence of alcohol. Patrol placed the 36-year-old male of Philadelphia in protective custody. During the search, incident to being placed in protective custody, the man was allegedly found to be in possession of a small amount of narcotics. The male was transported to the hospital to be held for evaluation and charges for narcotics were placed on a summons.

On Feb. 21 at approximately 9:02 p.m., the Mt. Laurel Township Police Department responded to Dicks Sporting Good’s for a report of a shoplifting. Loss prevention advised that two males, wearing all black clothing, allegedly entered the store and stole 38 Nike windbreakers. Each man was allegedly observed walking past the point of sale with $3,800 in Nike windbreakers, at no point attempting to render payment. The males then allegedly got into a Ford Focus.

On Feb. 21 at approximately 8:42 p.m., patrols responded to 250 Century Parkway for a report of a vehicle burglary. Upon arrival, patrols allegedly observed a vehicle with a front passenger side window smashed in with damage to the weather stripping. No items were reported to be stolen from inside the vehicle but the vehicle’s windshield wipers were reported stolen. The broken window was valued at $200.00, $20.00 for the weather stripping and the windshield wipers valued at $40.00. The investigation is ongoing.

On Feb. 21 at approximately 8:20 a.m., the Mt. Laurel Township Police Department arrested a suspect for possession of narcotics in the area of 6000 Atrium Way. During a routine motor vehicle stop, police took a 30-year-old male of Pennsauken into custody. The individual was found to have outstanding warrants out of multiple jurisdictions and further investigation allegedly revealed the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. The individual was transported to department headquarters, processed and released on a summons and with new court dates issued.
