Frank and Nilsen will begin their new three-year terms immediately. Frank’s name appeared on 625 of the 957 ballots, while Nilsen garnered 564 votes.

The only other candidate on the three-man fire commissioners ballot was Gregory Thelen, who received 429 votes.

Residents also voted in favor of the fire district’s annual budget, 575-361.

The 59-year-old Frank, a Westville Grove resident, has served for more than a dozen years on the board and has been with the district in one capacity or another in a fire department for more than 44 years.

Nilsen, a Locust Grove resident, works as an active member of the Cooper Street Fire Station, serving as a station safety officer.  He moved to Deptford in 2002 after nearly two terms as a fire commissioner in Gloucester Township and working at the Chews Landing Fire Department for 15 years.

Among write-in candidates, Scott Shannon received four votes, edging out Mickey Mouse (two votes).
