Fire district election results

Voters approved a budget and a new apparatus for the district.

In the fire district election for Harrison Township, voters cast their ballots to approve the new budget, re-appoint a commissioner and approve a new apparatus, which will be stationed at Harmony Fire Company.

297 votes were cast for Larry Crane to serve a three-year term on the board of fire commissioners. Crane ran unopposed.

267 votes were cast in favor of the new budget; 94 against it. The budget will remain the same from last year with a tax rate of 7.7 cents per $100 of assessed home value. Based on the average assessed home value of $341,695 in Harrison Township, taxpayers will pay roughly $21.925 per month for the fire district.

259 people voted “yes” on the ballot question requesting approval for a new 95-foot mid-mount aerial apparatus; 93 voted “no.” In a previous interview, Chairman Ken Powell said the truck will take a year to complete and will have zero impact on this year’s budget.

All results are unofficial until the Gloucester County Board of Elections certifies them. Votes include mail-in and in-person ballots.
