Mantua Township crime log, Jan. 30 — Feb. 5
The following information was provided by the Mantua Township Police Department
Jan. 26
· Patrols responded to a fight between two neighbors in which one neighbor punched another.
· Units responded to a report of criminal mischief in Wenonah in which a mirror on a vehicle was damaged and dogs were missing from the backyard.
· Officers responded to Carolina Blue for a vehicle that had been struck in the parking lot.
Jan. 27
· Ptl. Oldrati and Ptl. Layton responded to a subject that was attempting to enter a house through a sunroom at 6 a.m. Officers located the subject in the house and arrested him. The subject was intoxicated and believed he was at a friend’s house. He was also found to be in possession of drugs. He was arrested and charged.
· Units assisted a motorist at Carolina Blue that had locked their keys in their vehicle.
· Officers supervised community service workers that cleaned up litter on Main Street.
· Officers responded to an assault at the Evergreen Rest Home.
· Units responded to a child custody exchange in which the mother refused to pick up her children.
· Patrols responded to a crash on Barnsboro Road in the area of Jefferson Road in which one vehicle needed to be towed.
Jan. 28
· Ptl Mroz and his K-9 partner Zuke assisted Woodbury Heights Police Department with a search of a missing male with dementia.
· Patrols responded to a crash on Jackson Road in the area of State Road in which a vehicle struck a tree.
· Units impounded an abandoned vehicle from Mantua Boulevard that had been there for at least two weeks.
· Officers responded to a backyard fire in which the homeowner was burning items in the backyard. The investigation was turned over to the fire department that was on scene.
· Patrols responded to a crash in which a vehicle struck a deer on Breakneck Road.
Jan. 29
· Patrols responded to Newpoint Behavioral Health for a female that was out of control and throwing chairs around the room.
· Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Glassboro Road in the area of Center Street.
· Officers responded to a three-vehicle crash on Glassboro Road in the area of Tylers Mill Road in which one vehicle fled the scene and an occupant complained of minor pain.
· Officers took a report for burglary after the homeowner reported his nephew to have broken into their house. Officers located the subject, arrested him, and turned him over to the county jail.
· Units responded to a crash in which a vehicle struck a pole on Main Street and then fled from the scene.
· Patrols responded and cleared a large tree branch that was in the roadway on Route 45.
· Ptl. Mroz conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested two occupants for outstanding warrants. One was processed and released; the other was turned over to Glassboro Police Department.
Jan. 30
· Officers took a harassment complaint where the victim came to the station to make the report.
· Units responded to a crash on Lambs Rd near Tylers Mill Road.
· Ptl Donovan and his K-9 partner, Boomer, visited Wenonah Elementary School to speak to the kids.
· Patrol officers responded to a crash in the parking lot of the former K-Mart store.
· Officers responded to a dog bite and during the investigation, the officer was also bit. No one was seriously injured.
· Units responded to a domestic disturbance between adult siblings in Wenonah. The brother was arrested for domestic assault and also had outstanding warrants. He was turned over to the county jail.
· Units took a domestic report for an incident that occurred in Mantua, but the victim reported it to Deptford Police.
Jan. 31
· Officers assisted EMS with a transport of a patient to the hospital that was having a mental break down.
· Ptl. Donovan conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested two occupants for possession of drugs. They were processed and released.
· Units responded to a minor crash in front of Hawks Deli in Wenonah in which a parked vehicle was struck.
Feb. 1
· Units responded to the MUA office for an irate customer that was present.
· Patrols responded to a train signal flasher that was stuck on in Wenonah on Maple Avenue.
· Units responded to a domestic dispute where the caller’s boyfriend came home intoxicated and kicked the wall. He went to a neighbor’s house to have some coffee.
· Officers took a criminal mischief report where the caller’s mailbox was ran over.
· Officers responded to a hit and run crash where a vehicle struck a tree and then left. The vehicle was never located.
Feb. 2
· Units responded to a domestic dispute between exes in which there was an argument, and the male left prior to our arrival. The female was granted a restraining order.
· Officers took a crash report where a vehicle struck a deer on Mantua Boulevard.
· Units responded to a two-vehicle crash on Glassboro Road near Center Street.
· Officers responded to a domestic dispute that occurred in a vehicle. The suspect had punched a female in the face and took her glasses and stomped on them, then fled the scene. A warrant was issued for his arrest and a restraining order was granted.
· Patrols responded to a crash in Wenonah involving two vehicles on North Jefferson Avenue
· Patrols responded to a domestic dispute in which a male was throwing and breaking things inside the apartment. He was placed under arrest and processed. No restraining order was requested by the victim.
Feb. 3
· Officers supervised community service workers who cleaned up litter throughout town.
· Units responded to a female that had passed during the night.
· Patrols responded to a report of four or five juveniles on quads and dirt bikes riding in the compost center on Barnsboro Road.
· Units responded to a vehicle that struck a deer on Main Street in the area of Lambs Road.
· Patrols responded to a hit and run crash on Glassboro Road near Tylers Mill Road where the vehicle fled the scene on Tylers Mill Road.
· Officers responded to a crash in which a vehicle struck a pole on Heritage Road near Main Street.
· Officers responded to an unwanted person at a residence. The male was found to be in violation of a restraining order and was arrested.
Feb. 4
· Officers responded to a crash on Main Street near Mount Royal Road.
· Units responded to a solicitation complaint involving a vehicle trying to sell food.
· Patrols responded to a two-vehicle crash on Glassboro Road in which two ambulances were needed to transport the injured.
· Officers also responded to a crash on Main Street in front of the Bellemeade Development.
· Officers responded to a crisis call in which a female needed to be taken by ambulance to the hospital for an evaluation.
· Units responded to a crash on Glassboro Road in front of the Lowe’s store.
· Special Officer Amiss conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for an outstanding warrant. The subject was turned over to the county jail.
· Ptl. Oldrati conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for possession of drugs. She was processed and released.
Feb. 5
· Officers responded to a vehicle burglary that occurred over night on Adams Avenue.
· Officers responded to two vehicle burglaries that occurred over night on Woodbrook Drive.
· Units responded to three vehicle burglaries that occurred on Monroe Avenue.
· Officers responded to a vehicle burglary that occurred on Lincoln Avenue.
· Patrols responded to a three-vehicle crash on Glassboro Road in the area of Center Street. Two people were injured and transported to the hospital.
· A vehicle was stolen from in front of the victim’s house on Woodbrook Drive.
· Units responded to a crash on Lambs Road near Glassboro Road. One occupant was arrested for DUI.
· Officers assisted a motorist that had locked his keys in his vehicle with his toddler in the vehicle. Officers were able to quickly gain entry and the toddler was OK.
· Patrols responded to Centre City School to take a report of incident that happened in the street behind the school.
· Officers responded to a crash in which a vehicle struck a deer on Main Street near Lambs Road.
· Ptl. Layton arrested a subject at Chestnut Branch Park for possession of drugs.
· Officers responded to a noise complaint at midnight for a neighbor playing their radio too loud.
