Cherry Hill West honors retiring staff member Dan DiRenzo for his positive impact on students

For more than a decade, Dan DiRenzo impacted hundreds of students who walked the halls of Cherry Hill West. On Thursday, DiRenzo worked his final day as Cherry Hill West’s Student Support Supervisor. To show their appreciation for his service, the school community presented DiRenzo with a plaque that will be hung inside the Jones Gym entrance to the school.

Cherry Hill High School East vocal group preparing to tackle newest challenge

Cherry Hill East A Cappella group Stay Tuned has taken on a number of big roles since its formation during the 2012–13 school year. The group’s next challenge is coming up on Feb. 15, as Stay Tuned will perform the opening act at Disney’s DCappella national tour show at The Community Theater at Mayo Center for the Performing Arts in Morristown.

January Athlete of the Month: West girls basketball’s Alison Ahern

Cherry Hill West girls basketball is having its best season in at least seven years and sophomore Alison Ahern is a big part of the team’s success. Ahern has been the Lions’ top scorer since joining the program as a freshman and has already tallied more than 500 points in her career. Her diverse skillset has helped Cherry Hill West to an 8–8 start to the season.

Diverse agenda discussed during Cherry Hill Township Council meeting

Cherry Hill Township Council had a packed agenda for its meeting on Monday, with numerous resolutions passed on topics ranging from recycling grants to liquor licenses and enforcement, as well as upgrades to facilities where children can enjoy themselves. Numerous ordinances were approved on first reading as well, with one of those ordinances expanding the recreation commission from three to five seats.

Cherry Hill BOE hosting public forums on next bond referendum

Residents will have the opportunity to offer their input on Cherry Hill Public Schools’ next bond referendum. The school district will host five public forums beginning next Thursday. The forums will be 75 minutes long and will be conducted by a professional moderator. The five forums will take place at each of the two high schools and all three middle schools.
