Kugler passed away in her Cherry Hill home on Saturday at the age of 97.
Gloria H. Kugler (nee Hicks) passed away in her home in Cherry Hill on Jan. 12. She was 97. Born in Providence, R.I., she moved to Woodbury with her family after completing a master’s degree at the Rhode Island School of Design. Gloria worked as a commercial artist for leading fashion houses and department stores of that era. While living in Woodbury, she married her next-door neighbor, George F. Kugler, Jr. They were married for 57 years until his death in 2004. A lifelong devotee of classical music, Gloria was very active with the Philadelphia Orchestra, at one time serving as president of the NJ Women’s Auxiliary. She was an avid gardener, a love she passed down to her children.
Gloria is survived by her four sons, George F. Kugler, III, Hon. Robert B. Kugler (Theresa), Jeffrey R. Kugler (Kimberly), Peter D. Kugler (Kristine), 11 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
